Rough Fish Removal project

Jeff R. still has not removed fish from Foster La= ke yet. Waiting to hear when/what he does this spring for carp removal.=

RLAA Member Appreciation event (All)

Event was cancelled this winter due to lack of response. Will bring this idea up at RLAA 2012 Annual Meeting.

Shoreline erosion due to fishing along shoreline i= n NE corner of Rice Lake (George)

Tristan Bay neighborhood recently raised the concern about visiting fishermen eroding the shoreline, leading to run-off into the lake/creek. City of Maple Gro= ve Parks department has fenced off an area approximately 300 feet around the perimeter of the bay to keep everyone out. They also put up seve= ral ‘Native Habitat’ signs to discourage people from entering the area. Will see how native vegetation recovers before doing anyth= ing else.

State of the Lakes project - Feedback from MG Spring Newsletter article (All)

Co= nsensus from the board was that the article was informational and should help residents better understand the lakes and the situations they face in today’s environment.

RLAA Newsletter

·         Plan next issue for Q1 2012 to be released in May after RLAA Annual Meeting on May 1

·         Send a 1-page notice around to residents about upcoming RLAA Annual Meeting and include referenc= e to April 22 Earth Day to remind residents to clean up around the lake/neighborhoods.

Shoreline tree trimming (navigation hazards) (Scot= t/George)

Request made to resident on = Elm Creek (Grefe) where overhanging tree hinders boat traffic.

Buoy deployment - Let's plan on putting them out in early April.

4/15 – Attempt to reco= ver the buoy anchors unsuccessful. Will be creating new anchors and deploying with buoys later in April.

2012 RLAA Annual Dues - Let's make them due at the time of the annual meeting. Previously, we have not issued a "due date", which may have contributed to not as many residents paying them.

Decided to make them due by = June 1^st with no late fee.
