The Confluence Gets a New
Look! Welcome to
the new version of Minnesota Waters' monthly
e-Newsletter, The Confluence. Minnesota
Waters is pleased to present a wonderful, new, easy
to read, user friendly version of their electronic
newsletter. The goal
of the Confluence is to provide you with
timely news, upcoming events, and other resources
related to water resource issues. We apologize if
you have received two issues of the October
Confluence. The conversion to the new format
caused a database issue. The problem is being
resolved and will be corrected for the November
issue. If you would like to submit your comments
about the new version of The Confluence or if you
have ideas on what you would like to see in a future
issue, please contact Carrie at carriea@minnesotawaters.org

George the Strait Talking
Moose
Brought to you from Conservation
Minnesota
The newest star on Minnesota's musical scene is a
singing moose. In this video he reminds Minnesotans to
be sure to vote one way or another on a proposed
constitutional amendment on the November 4 ballot. The
amendment would assure funding for clean water, parks
and trails and habitat protection for the next 25
years. But as the moose says, if you don't vote on
the amendment, the government will vote "no" for
you. Don't let that happen!
Please visit Conservation Minnesota for
more information and to view the video. www.conservationminnesota.org/

river is in danger due to pollution, dams, harmful
development, or other threats, and is facing a critical
decision in the coming year it may be a strong candidate
for this year's report.

form or to nominate your river visit the American Rivers

MPCA H2infO Transition
The Minnesota
Pollution Control Agency (MPCA ) is in the process of
making significant enhancements to STORET (to be called
H2infO), the agency's water quality data management
system for lakes, rivers, and other bodies of water. Our
goal is to make H2infO data more accessible,
comprehensive, and user-friendly for the number and
variety of people who rely on it, internal to MPCA as
well as external. The MPCA is holding
"user requirement" sessions in several locations around
the state next month at which participants will be asked
what the problems and strengths are of the current
system, and then, what users would like the future
system to do or provide. Lunch and snacks will be
provided. Please view the
list of user requirement sessions dates and locations.
