Who are we?
The Rice Lake Area Association (RLAA) is a non-profit organization with a mission to improve and maintain the quality of water and habitat on Rice Lake and the immediate surrounding area.
Rice Lake has been experiencing a heavy blue-green algae bloom (Aphanizomenon), especially in the northern edge of Elm Creek up to the dam since early July.
(Go to the 'Projects' page and select '2010' under 'Algae Blooms' on the 'Lake Issues' page for details)
Effective April 18, 2010 we have changed our website layout and navigation. We think it should be easier to find what you are looking for with the site navigation buttons on the left hand margin. We have tried to keep each webpage at 1 page or less for ease of viewing.
Among the new features on this site are:
Membership page with PayPal for on-line dues payments
More maps and charts for lake project and survey information
Consistent page layout/color coding (i.e.: Yellow for Events; Gray for Projects; etc.)
